I found myself staring
out into the blackness. Somewhere within it I saw the flash of a woman
showering. The place had a vibration which was similar to the taste of
barbecue sauce, but raw and metallic. The woman in the shower was someone
I knew; she had dark hair, and pale skin, but through the glass enclosure,
I couldn't make out much more than that. A man walked into the bathroom.
I could see him perfectly. He had pinched features, small eyes, black hair
and was dressed entirely in black leather. She looked unbothered, and he
did not like this one bit. He flashed a grin exposing two pointed fangs.
She turned her back on him. He grabbed her arm, and pulled her out of the
shower. I looked away.
I got the sense that this
scene was taking place inside of a deflated bubble. As I zoomed out, I
came to an understanding that it was an alternate reality, but one that
no one was occupying it (I'm not sure what this means, unless all of the
souls at a certain juncture simply left. Unfortunately, I do not have the
luxury of being able to question my dreaming self). It was as if the whole thing
had somehow been halted, and all that existed was past and present. I started
directing white light into the sphere, and it became illuminated, so that
I could see more of what was inside of it. I didn't actually "see" anything
else, but the taste in my mouth grew stronger, and along with it came the
impression that this place was the place that I lived, but it was not the
universe I was living in. I recognized the tangy metallic flavor as something
I liked very much, and something that I consumed often, but also came to
the conclusion that it was not barbecue sauce. After much thought, I placed
it; It was blood. I didn't find this at all disturbing, in fact, I felt
as though I had suddenly recovered something important that I had forgotten.
I have never in my life had the urge to drink blood, and I still don't.
I don't know what this could mean.
