I saw Erik laying in a bathtub,
and alternately hearing his thoughts, and sitting in his body, I became
aware that he was contemplating his humanity.
"I am the childe of Murabi, a vampire with the blood of ages in his
veins. My sire stalks the night murdering murderers, and raping rapists.
What am I? I am not a monster... am I? How can I be? I love. I love, and
I am not a monster."
As if in reply, a large,
flying head appeared above
him. It looked like it was made of liquid magma; the surface was dried, and red orange light radiated between chunks
of blood red stone. He looked up, and I suddenly became him. I stood, and
was no longer in a bathtub, but rather in a dark room. My friends were
standing around me, and they were looking at the flaming head in terror.
I could feel the emotions of hatred and fear all around me. I knew that
for all of the evils I had ever committed, God would not let my friends
be killed (pretty strange, as I am neither Christian nor Jew, and my conscience
is fairly clean). I began to pray, quietly, and I could see light all around
me. The fiery head roared with rage, and loudly, I began to sing a Christian
hymn that my waking self had all but forgotten, "The Lord bless you and
keep you, the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious unto
you. The Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace."
I then felt my soul ascending
into the light. I was sitting on a stereotypical white cloud, having a
picnic with a woman that I recognized as God. I was incredibly, sublimely
happy. I then received a crumpled, decaying piece of paper from Earth,
with a message scrawled on it. "I hope you are well, wherever you are,
and that you are at peace, and happy." The words were nearly irrelevant.
I could read on the paper the sadness of the person who had written it,
and the love. I knew I had to return home. I told God that I loved her,
and went back into my body.
My only explanation for this dream, is that it was a dream about Erik's
innards. I know for a fact that Erik, in whatever plane he exists, is both
a vampire (I am assuming a psi-vamp, because as far as I can tell, he's
not incarnate), and a very religious Catholic. It's a strange thing for
a dead person to be a Catholic, but the Erik is, admittedly, a really strange
critter.
