Father

I don't know what his name was. I called him simply "Father", because he was a priest. He lead me away from the crowd, and into the church. Behind closed doors, he asked me, "What happened to yer parents, girl?"  I'm not sure what I answered, or if I answered at all. He asked me many questions that I answered with resignation, assuming that I was still going to die. He made me read from books, and asked me if I had studied Latin. I told him no.  He gave me a serious look of consideration, and then he told me to follow him. I had it somewhere in my head that I had been directly responsible for their deaths, but I'm not entirely sure how. Later memories seem to suggest that Ellanna was pyrokinetic, and so this may be one possible explanation.
I remember walking around on the cold floor of the church. It had the feeling of a medieval castle somehow, and I felt that at any moment, we'd wake someone. I don't know if this was the village's church, or the church of some larger city I'd been taken to. It was clear that people lived in this building though, as there was a pantry, and there were plenty of rooms.  He packed provisions for me, and arranged for me to go to England. He may or may not have come with me, but I know that my journey happened by boat. Whoever he was, I owed my life to him, and I thank him.
